1. Government will sell 10 per cent stake each in Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and 5 per cent in Steel Authority of India (SAIL) in the current financial year. Cabinet has approved the residual stake sale in Hindustan Zinc (HZL) and Balco.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a website MyGov - a technology driven platform that aims to help citizens contribute in governance by giving their opinions and views on important issues. It will be knowledge repository and later converted into a social audit platform for development projects. It will be implemented by National Informatics Centre (NIC) of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).

3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has fined 12 banks, including ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Canara Bank and Corporation Bank, a total of Rs 1.5 crore in the Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd (DCHL) loan default case. This fine has been levied for not following proper procedures while lending to DCHL. It has exposed nearly Rs.4000 crore.

4. Delhi Government is planning to levy "transport cess" on the sale of every alcohol bottle for the improvement of public transport sector and to tackle increasing pollution in the national Capital.

5. 16-year-old Malaika Goel gave India their first shooting medal with a silver in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event and Abhinav Bindra won gold medal in the men’s 10m air rifle l at the 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

6. Government is finalising the site 'Princess park' in New Delhi for construction of a “grand” National War Memorial and war museum on the 15th anniversary of the Kargil War.
