1. NASSCOM started the third phase of its '10,000 Start-up Initiative'. It was launched by NASSCOM with Google, Microsoft and Verisign to nurture 10,000 start-ups for 10 years. NASSCOM has also launched Technology Startup Registry which will act as a repository of India's technology start-ups in the internet, mobile, e commerce, software as a service and market space place.

2. At the recently concluded United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva, it has been agreed to have an international legally binding agreement to curb human right violations by multinational companies. The resolution was moved by Ecuador and South Africa and found support among 20 members of the council, including India, China, Ethiopia, Pakistan and Russia.

3. Bengal Governor M.K. Narayan resigned following the CBI's questioning of him as witness in VVIP chopper deal probe. Narayanan was the former National Security Advisor (NSA) before being appointed as Governor of West Bengal in 2010.

4. The 2014-15 Union Budget is likely to implement India's first-ever exclusive channel named either Krishi Channel or Kisan Channel for farmers, with an initial allocation of Rs 100 crore. The channel will function under Prasar Bharati and will have interactive programmes for the farmer.

5. India introduces a new visa liberal policy for Afghanistan citizens on humanitarian grounds. It will allow them to stay for 2 years and exemption from police reporting for senior citizens and children.

6. India has made request to Swiss government officials seeking names and details of Indians who hold unaccounted money in Swiss banks. Recently Supreme Court directed the centre to form a commitee which is headed by M.B.Shah to probe into black money.
