1. Centre plans to disinvest 15 per cent stake in state-run trading entity MMTC this financial year. The government currently holds 89.93 per cent of equity in MMTC.

2. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is considering a proposal to link the cash deposit machines with the National Financial Switch (NFS). Bank customers might in the near future be able to deposit cash in their accounts from any bank’s cash deposit machines (CDMs).

3. Asia Index Private Limited, the joint venture between S&P Dow Jones Indices and BSE, has launched 19 new indices. This includes the S&P BSE AllCap index, S&P BSE Sensex 1x Inverse Daily and the S&P BSE Sensex 2x Inverse Daily.

4. Research firm Moody forecasts India’s 2015 gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 7.5 per cent for 2015, while the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) expects growth to average 7.1 per cent for 2015-2019.

5. NASA’s MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) spacecraft, which was launched in 2004, will impact the mercury's surface on April 30.

2. Dr. Mohan Kumar was appointed as the next Ambassador of India to France. He had served as Deputy High Commissioner at the Indian Diplomatic Mission in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

3. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed banks to offer differential interest rates, based on whether their term deposits are with or without a premature withdrawal facility.

4. ICICI Bank has tied up with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation to launch ICICI Bank Unifare Bangalore Metro card ' Namma Metro Smart Card' to offer debit and credit card benefits to commuters.

5. Former Czech Republic Prime Minister Stanislav Gross on 16 April 2015 died after a long illness. He was the youngest Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 2004 to 2005 at the age of 34.
