1. China and Pakistan recently launched a plan for energy and infrastructure projects in Pakistan worth $46 billion, linking their economies and underscoring China’s economic ambitions in Asia and beyond.

2. The world's largest kidney weighing 2.75 kgs was removed by Indian surgeons on 20 April 2015 in the 3 hour surgery. The operation was done by the Surgeons of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRM), Delhi.

3. Japanese bullet train Maglev created a new world speed record of 603 kilometer per hour (kmph) in a test run near Mount Fuji. The seven-car maglev (short for magnetic levitation) train broke its previous record of 580 kilometer per hour created in 2003.

4. Eminent historian Professor Christopher Alan Bayly died in Chicago due to heart attack. His death was announced by the Centre for South Asian Studies at the University of Cambridge.

5. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and teen idol Zyan Malik were honoured at the 5th Asian Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Khan was awarded with the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award. 22-year-old Malik was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution to Music.

1. Department of Agriculture & Cooperation has approved the Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) as a Central Sector Scheme, with a corpus of Rs.500 crores. PSF will be used to advance interest free loan to State Governments/Union Territories to support their expenses on procurement and distribution interventions for such commodities.

2. India has added 15 more species to the “Red List” of threatened species published by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2014. India is at the 7th position now with 988 threatened species on the list.

3. The Indian Navy recently launched the stealth destroyer INS Visakhapatnam at Mumbai’s Mazagon dock. INS Visakhapatnam is the first of P15-B stealth destroyers.

4. India has planned to hand over three indigenously-built Cheetal multi-role helicopters to Afghanistan during the upcoming visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Afghanistan.

5. The government is planning to introduce the one rank, one pension scheme for all military personnel in the current session of Parliament.
