01. November 21st is World Fisheries Day: November 21st is being observed as the World Fisheries Day to create awareness against over fishing, destruction of fish and also discuss about the need to improve the fresh water and marine resources.


02. India juniors wins hockey cup: India Juniors Men’s hockey team has won the 8th Asia Hockey cup by defeating Pakistan in the final match. The bronze medal went to Korea.


03. New president for Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) : Harshavardhan Neotia has been elected as the new president of FICCI. He is the Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group which has made its mark in the Real Estate industry including housing, hospitality, health care and education.


04. Djokovic wins World ATP Tour finals for the 4th consequtive time: Novak Djokovic has won the ATP tour tennis tournament for the fourth time and he is the only player in the world to have won it 4 times. In the final match, he won Roger Federer for clinching the title in straight sets.


05. Rajasthan signs agreement with South Australia: Rajasthan state signed a sister state agreement with South Australia to boost investment avenues and also exports tie ups. The agreement provides partnership opportunities across key sectors where South Australian business will offer services and product support.

06. Axis Bank and Vistara to launch travel credit card: HDFC Bank and Vistara, a Joint Venture airlines of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines has launched a travel credit card. The partnership will help customers to avail a host of privileges like , earn Club Vistara points and avail complimentary award flight tickets faster,

Chennai floods, Insurance claims likely to touch Rs.400 to Rs.500 crores: Insurance companies are likely to process claims worth around Rs 400-500 crore which are to be lodged with them on account of the severe floods in Chennai. Major portion of the claim will relate to destruction of properties and claimed many human lives.

08. French President to be Chief Guest for R-Day 2016: French President Francois Hollande will be the Chief Guest at the 2016 Republic Day parade. France holds the honour of being the guest of honour for a maximum of 5 times in the R-day parade.

01. PSU Banks asked to clean up balance sheets: Finance Minister, has asked the PSU Banks CEOs to clean up their balance sheets by reducing their NPAs. NPAs of PSU Banks grew by 25.19% and touched a figure of 5.64% of the total advances. In terms of quantum, the figure aggregate to Rs.2.14 lakh crores.

02. India will enter Top-100 in Ease of Doing Business Index by next year: Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha today hinted that India will be among top 100 countries in the World Bank’s list of ease of doing business ranking by next year. India now ranks 130 out of 189 countries in the index .

03. Axis Bank to open office in Bangladesh : Axis Bank has opened a representative office in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh recently. Axis Bank already has branches in Singapore, Hong Kong, DIFC-Dubai, Colombo and Shanghai, with representative offices at Dubai and Abu Dhabi and a wholly-owned subsidiary in the UK.

04. Heinrich von Stietencron wins prestigious ‘Distinguished Indologist Award”: The German National has won the award for his various works in the areas of history of Indian religions, especially Hinduism. Indology is the academic study of the history and cultures, languages, and literature of the Indian subcontinent.


05 Pankaj Advani wins another honour: Ace Indian snooker player Pankaj Advani has won the IBSF World Snooker Championships. In the final match he defeated the Chinese player Zhua Xintong to gain the title. With this victory, Pankaj Advani has won the World Snooker Championship for record 15 times.
