01. Commemorative coins of rupees 125 and rupees 10 released in honour of Sri.S. Radhakrishnan: PM Sri.Narendera Modi released coins of Rs 125 and Rs10 in honour of the former president Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan, who was the second President of India from 1962 to 1967.

02. India to launch Indonesian satellite LAPAN A2/Orari : India will launch Indonesia’s second multi-spectral remote sensing satellite LAPAN A2/Orari from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, on September 27, 2015.

03. RBI crisis fund short of target: Contingency funds with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), used in case of unforeseen shocks, have fallen to 8.4 per cent of total assets, against a target of 12 per cent, as shown in its Annual Report for 2014-15 released on August 27. For the last two years, the RBI has made no transfers to its Contingency Fund or its Asset Development Fund. The balance in these funds, therefore, has barely changed since 2013, when they made up 10.1 per cent of total assets.

04. Sri Lanka Central Bank receives $1.1 bn from RBI: Sri Lanka Central Bank received 1.1 billion dollars from the Reserve Bank of India, under the currency swap agreement between the two reserve banks.
05. Nearly 1.65 lakh account holders avail Overdraft under PM Jan Dhan Yojana : The Finance Ministry has said that nearly 1.65 lakh account holders out of the total 18 crore accounts opened under the PM Jan Dhan Yojana have availed overdraft facility.

Forex reserves fall sharply by $3.43 billion to $351.92 billion : India's foreign exchange reserves fell by a whopping $3.4 billion in a single week ending August 28 due to Reserve Bank of India’s dollar sale and the change in valuation of euro, pound and yen against the dollar. Reserve Bank of India was seen selling dollars to prevent the rupee from depreciating freely. Forex reserves now stands at $351.9 billion, the latest data showed.

07. Maldives has the highest per-capita income in South Asia: Surprisingly Maldives has the highest per-capita income of $6666, followed by SriLanka with $3280. India is fourth in the list of South Asian nations with a per-capita income of $1499.

08. Joint Military Exercise ‘Ekuverin’ : Ekuverin – VI, a joint military training exercise is being conducted between India and Maldives in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, as part of exchange of defence skills.
