1. Amalendu Krishna of TIFR wins Ramanujan Prize: The Ramanujan Prize for 2015 has been won by mathematician Amalendu Krishna of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. The prize is awarded jointly by the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the International Mathematical Union (IMU) to a person under 45 working in a developing country.

2. Sachin, Amitabh to turn ‘tiger ambassadors’: The Maharashtra government has asked film actor Amitabh Bachchan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to assume the role of ‘tiger ambassadors’ and help in the conservation drive of the State.

3. HC restrains M.P Government: The Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court directed the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government to explain the frequent transfers of Vyapam scam whistleblower Anand Rai and his wife, Gouri Rai.

4. RBI keeps rates unchanged: The Reserve Bank of India kept the indicative policy rate (Repo) unchanged at 7. 25 per cent, citing the delay in transmission of earlier rate cuts by banks and the continuing inflationary pressures in the economy. It also retained the cash reserve ratio (CRR) at four per cent.

The museum, “Navachara Kaksh” at Rashtrapati Bhavan tour: The museum, “Navachara Kaksh” (room of new ideas), was inaugurated (room of new ideas) at , was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee . It will be open to visitors on Fridays and weekends as part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan tour. The museum has been set up with the assistance of the chip-maker Intel.

6. Lord Balaji checks into Dalal Street with a demat account: The Dalal Street has got its priciest member with Lord Balaji of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) opening a demat account. According to a release, TTD has started its account in Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL) to receive donations in the form of shares from devotees.

7. Encumbrance certificates must reflect tax dues, says HC: In a significant order, the Madras High Court Bench here has directed State government to devise a mechanism to ensure that dues towards electricity consumption charges, municipal tax, home loans and so on get reflected on encumbrance certificates issued by Sub-Registrars with respect to the immovable properties concerned.

8. Pakistani singer Adnan Sami allowed to stay in India: Pakistani singer Adnan Sami has been allowed to stay in India for an indefinite period following his appeal to legalise his stay in India on humanitarian grounds.
