1. Banned director to make a film on Ayodhya temple : Florida-based director Raj Amit Kumar is making a feature film on one of India’s most controversial subjects titled ‘Ayodhya, the Hindi film will have Victor Banerjee in the cast.

4. Banks now fear that bad loans may come from telecom sector : After the power sector, bankers now fear that bad loans could rise in the telecom sector because of an expected disruption caused by the entry of Reliance Jio later in this year. Several bankers feel that the telecom industry which has over Rs. 2,50,000 crore of outstanding loans may not be able to generate enough revenue to support timely repayment and the entry of Reliance Jio could bring down the margins further.
5. 11 shortlisted for CEO-MD’s job at 5 Public Sector Banks: A Panel headed by RBI governor Raghuram Rajan has shortlisted 11 candidates for the post of CEO and MD of five large Public Sector Banks (PSBs). All the shortlisted candidates are from PSBs.
6. Government seeks Mobile Tower Data to check company’s claims on call drops : The Government has sought information to check the veracity of telecom operators’ claim that the paucity of mobile towers has led to frequent call drops.
7. SBI plans dollar bond sale to raise $1.5 billion : SBI plans to launch its second dollar bond sale of the fiscal year to raise $1.5 billion to utilise the window available to borrow at a lower cost before the US Federal Reserve possibly raises rates later this year.

Modi and French President to co-launch book on Environment : PM Modi will co-launch a book on the urgent need for protecting the environment with French President Francois Hollande to make the point that India is looking to play a more high-profile ,leadership role on the global stage in this regard.
