01. Global Leadership for two Indians: Hindustan Times Group chairperson Shobhana Bharatia and PepsiCo Chairman Indra Nooyi have been awarded 2015 Global Leadership Award of the US-India Business Council (USIBC). Their roles as top women leaders in the Business world and their commitment to driving a more inclusive global economy have won them this award. Apart from them, renowned Indian-American artist Natvar Bhavsar was awarded the Artistic Achievement Award. He is well-known for his abstract expressionism and colour-field painting.
02. Union Cabinet approves amendment of MoU on Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education: The Union Cabinet gave its approval for minor amendments in earlier MoU signed to facilitate implementation of Indo-German Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education Programme.

Union Cabinet approves MoU with Cambodia for cooperation in tourism : The Union Cabinet has approved the MoU which was signed earlier between India and Cambodia for co-operation in the area of tourism. The MoU was earlier signed in Cambodia during the visit of Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India.

National Health Profile Released: Health and Family Welfare Union Minister Sri.JP Nadda has recently released the National Health Profile (NHP) 2015 , which was compiled by the Central Bureau of Health Intelligence (CBHI). This profile covers demographic, socio-economic, health status and health finance indicators, along with comprehensive information on health infrastructure and human resources in health.

Paying by credit cards is set to become still safer: A research team has developed a fool-proof method viz., SafePay prototype system to prevent credit card misuse and fraud using hi-fi technology . This novel technique works by transforming disposable credit card information to electrical current and driving a magnetic card chip to simulate the behavior of a physical magnetic card.
06. International day for Rhinos too: World Rhino Day was observed on Sep 22 across the world The World Rhino Day was first announced by WWF-South Africa in 2010. The following year, World Rhino Day has come to stay as a successful venture, which included Rhinos of both African and Asian species.
07. Choppers from USA: Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the deal to buy 37 military helicopters from the United States (US). The deal is worth 3.1 billion US dollars. The deal includes purchase of 22 Apache attack helicopters and 15 Chinook heavy-lift choppers, which will replace the old Soviet-era aircraft.

Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai of Odisha wins Community Impact Award at Google Science Fair: Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, a class 9 student from Odhisha has bagged the prestigious Community Impact Award at the fifth Google Science Fair held in California . She has won this award for developing a low-cost bio-absorbent based water purifier, which aims at cleaning waste water by flowing through difference layers of corn cobs.

CANBANK Venture Capital Fund Ltd named as the agency for implementation of EDF Policy: The Electronic Development Fund (EDF) is set up as a Fund of Funds to participate in Daughter Funds which in turn will provide risk capital to companies developing new technologies in the area of electronics, nano-electronics and Information Technology (IT). CanBank Venture Capital Fund Ltd. has been appointed as the agency to implement EDF.
10. MoU for Swavlamban Health Insurance Scheme for Disabled Persons Signed: The Trust Fund for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the Department of Empowerment of People with Disabilities , Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment , have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New India Assurance Company Limited and the MoU aims at providing an affordable health insurance, for Persons with Disabilities. . It also aims to improve the general health condition & quality of life of persons with disabilities.
