01. International Day of Peace observed globally: The International Day of Peace was observed on 21 September 2015 across the world to give recognition to the efforts of those who have tirelessly worked to promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire. On this day, the United Nations invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities and commemorates the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.

02. Ajay Jayaram wins Silver : Ajay Jayaram, ace shuttler has won the silver medal in 2015 Korea Open Badminton tournament in the Men’s singles category. Ajay becomes the first Indian to win a medal in Korea Open Badminton tournament. At present, Jayram is ranked 32nd in the Men's Singles world ranking.

03. Sania Mirza & Ajinkya Rahane conferred with Cricket Club of India’s honorary life membership: India's ace tennis player Sania Mirza and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane were conferred with honorary life membership of Cricket Club of India (CCI). As the members of the club, the recipients will be allowed to use its facilities along with one’s spouse. The membership of CCI is a prestigious ownership which is awarded regularly to sportsmen and eminent persons as cognition of their contribution to their respective fields.

FM Arun Jaitley promises more reforms: India’s economic growth is expected to improve despite unfavourable global conditions, as the government has initiated several reform programmes, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said recently. Emphasizing that India has the potential to be the bright spot in the gloomy global economic scenario, Jaitley said fiscal deficit is coming down and inflation is very much under control.

05. Monsoon deficit comes down to 14%: Widespread rains in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the last couple of days have brought down the overall monsoon deficit to 14% of the benchmark long-period average (LPA) from 16% reported a week ago. With predictions of more rainfall, the overall deficiency is expected to come down further.

06. Nepal adopts new Constitution : Nepal has adopted new Constitution marking the country’s transition to a secular and democratic republic. The new Constitution was unveiled by Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav at a special ceremony held in Parliament at Kathmandu. The new constitution defines the Nepal, a majority Hindu nation as a secular republic divided into seven federal provinces.

07. Axis Bank Launches LIME : Axis Bank, has launched LIME which will be the country’s first mobile app that offers Wallet, Shopping, Payments & Banking. LIME will enable individuals to open a full-fledged savings account digitally, by completing the KYC process, using their mobile.

08. Anupam Kher receives Honours: Veteran actor Anupam Kher has been presented with the “Honoured Guest” award by the U.S. state of Texas for his contribution to cinema and art. This honour comes just days after he was conferred with a “Senate Proclamation” by The Texas State Senate.

09. Supreme court launches “National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG)” : The Grid will give litigants and others the consolidated figures of pending cases in the country’s District Judiciary. Aimed at promoting transparency and access to information for all stakeholders in the justice delivery system, the NJDG public access page can be visited at the National e-Courts portal, ecourts.gov.in'.
