03. Scientist Dr Modadugu Vijay Gupta to receive inaugural Sunhak Peace Prize: Noted Indian agricultural scientist Dr Modadugu Vijay Gupta has been chosen for the inaugural Sunhak Peace Prize. He will receive this award for his pioneering work in the blue revolution. The Sunhak Peace Prize was established at the proposal of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon of South Korea who wished to honor and inherit the peace ideology and will of her late husband, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, who dedicated his life to a movement that transcends race, religion, and nation for the realization of his One Global Family peace ideology.

They have been nominated for these awards for their contributions in the field of materials science and engineering.
07. WTO rules against India in solar dispute with US: The World Trade Organization (WTO) has ruled against India in a dispute with the United States over its solar power program. India is planning to appeal the decision, made after the United States complained about domestic content requirements in a program aimed at easing chronic energy shortages in India.
08. RBI asks Govt to speed up reforms in banking systemThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) warned the Government that any delay in reform of the banking system in the country would lead to greater risk in the economy. “The current stress in the banking system suggests that the real economy will not wait for the banking system, and a slow pace of reform could lead to greater, rather than lower risk residing in the banking system,” wrote RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan in his overview of the central bank’s annual report 2014-15.
