1. Gujarat has become the first state in the country where voters will have to compulsorily exercise their franchise in local body polls as new Governor O P Kohli gave his assent to the Gujarat Local Authorities Laws Bill. The Bill also provides for 50 per cent reservation for women in local bodies.
2. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) revises the insider trading norms which is expected to be approved at its board meeting. The insider trading norms will define connected persons based on the duty they perform for a company and the legal relation they have with the listed entity and its promoters.
3. India test-fired the nuclear weapon-capable Agni-II ballistic missile for its full strike range of 2,000 km from Wheeler Island off the Odisha Coast.
4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Jeevan Pramaan - Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners' . The proposed digital certification will do away with the requirement of a pensioner having to submit a physical Life Certificate in November each year, in order to ensure continuity of pension being credited into his account.
5. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar resigned from his position to take up the post of Defence minister in the Union Cabinet.

1. Suresh Raina, Raju Srivastava and Kailash Kher, UP Chief Minister AkhileshYadav were nominated by Mr Modi to take forward his campaign to clean the Ganga.
2. China and Pakistan inked 20 agreements amounting to Chinese investment reportedly worth about $46 billion on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders meeting. Chinese President Xi Jinping termed China and Pakistan as “iron friends” .
3. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced $40-billion fund to build mega Silk Road projects criss-crossing Asia, ahead of the key APEC summit to bolster infrastructure in the region. The APEC summit is being held from November 10 to 11 in the Chinese capital Beijing.
4. India bagged 13 medals including four golds in the rapid event on the opening day of the Asian Youth Chess Championships . The Tamil Nadu trio of R. Vaishali, M. Mahalakshmi and Srija Seshadri won the gold in under-14, under-16 and under-18 girls’ categories respectively. India also pocketed four silver and five bronze medals.
5. Germany celebrates the marking of 25 years since the epochal fall of the Berlin Wall . Chancellor Angela Merkel is leading three days of commemorations for those killed trying to flee the repressive state and marking the joyous breach of Europe’s Cold War division on November 9, 1989.
