1. Public sector banks have made ‘green lending’ commitments totalling Rs. 1,70,740 crore to help stakeholders put up renewable energy projects over the next five years. Green energy generation in the country is expected to increase by 34,148 MW during this period.

2. Ashu Suyash will be the next Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Crisil. Suyash succeeds Roopa Kudva, who has been at the helm since 2007.

3. India tops in asking for content restrictions according to Facebook's Global Government Requests Report. Facebook blocked 5,832 pieces of content, including anti-religious matter and hate speeches, during July-December 2014 on orders of the Indian government.

1. Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) is meeting for the first time in Odisha to discuss strategic challenges in the region.The objective of the conference is to draw a resolution outlining India’s role including trade ties and strategic challenges in the Indian Ocean region.

2. Noted Gandhian and former Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith, Narayan Desai, died at the age of 90. Desai was also associated with Vinoba Bhave's Bhoodan (land gift) movement and Jayprakash Narayan's 'total revolution' movement.

3. International Monetary Fund (IMF) cautioning India on challenges to its economic growth, says the organisation's managing director, Christine Lagarde. She is expected to meet Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan in India's financial capital.

4.Indian women team won Hockey World League by 3-1 against Poland at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

5. India has called off plans for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s travel to Brussels during his visit to Europe and Canada next month. The decision was taken as the External Ministry did not receive any reply for its proposal which suggested holding the EU-India summit during the visit.
