1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) warned lenders against outsourcing their credit processing activities to third-party entities. It encourages the banks that whatever is the non-core activity it should be outsourced.

2. Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has launched a major SMS campaign to create awareness among the public about fraudulent schemes claiming ‘big profits in less time’. Beside, Sebi has already launched investor education and awareness programmes through newspapers.

3. According to its ‘Act East’ policy, the union government is finalising the mechanism for setting up special purpose vehicles by Export Import Bank of India and private companies to invest in manufacturing hubs in Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam (CMLV).

4. Shashi Kapoor will be conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2014 by the government for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.

5. Government frontloaded its market borrowing for the next fiscal with plans to raise Rs.3.60 lakh crore in the first half, even as the Reserve Bank of India voiced concern over a ‘huge supply’ of government bonds. RBI Deputy Governor R. Gandhi said that the rise in government borrowings through bonds was impeding the growth of the corporate debt market.

1. Centre may consider appointing the Deputy Governor of RBI as Chairman of Nabard (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development). It may also seriously consider the reverse merger to make RBI and Nabard complementary to each other for the betterment of agriculture and rural development.

2. Amitabh Bachchan was appointed as the brand ambassador for Union Government’s campaign against Hepatitis B, a critical public problem in India. He was also UNICEF’s goodwill brand ambassador of pulse polio campaign in India.

3. Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons Ltd was roped in by Union Government to head Kaya Kalp, a council formed to suggest innovative ways to transform the Indian Railways. Earlier, the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced the formation of permanent council in his first Railway Budget 2015-16.

4. The 1st Counter-Terrorism Conference 2015 was held in Jaipur for three days from 19 March 2015 to 21 March 2015. The central theme of the Conference is Integrated Approach to Counter-Terrorism.

5. Legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar on 20 March 2015 was presented with the Laadli Voice of the Century award. She was awarded at the sixth edition of the National Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity held at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
