01. Andhra Bank to sell bad debts to ARCs: State Owned Andhra Bank is set to sell bad loans worth Rs.209 million to Assets Reconstruction Companies (ARCs). These bad loans are spread over 29 large accounts. Andhra Bank has a NPA figure of 5.71% currently.
02. Bad loans syndrome bottoming out: The position of bad loans in both the public sector and private sector banks are bottoming out and expected to improve gradually, as per the prediction made by Ms.Arundhati Bhattacharya.
03. Bank of India loses ranking: Bank of India has lost its AA+ ICRA ranking due to weak assets quality. The bank has an outstanding borrowings of Rs.1587 crores. As at June 2015 the gross NPA of the bank stood at 6.8%
04. Government announces FDI reforms in 15 sectors: The Government has announced reforms in Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in 15 sectors. Sectors like agriculture, animal husbandry, plantation, defence and civil aviation are likely to be benefited by these reforms. The limit for approval from Foreign Investment Promotion Board has been enhanced from Rs.3000 crores to Rs.5000 crores.
05. FDI reforms a bonanza for Private Banks: The recent reforms in FDI norms has come as a big bonus for private banks like Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank and Axis Bank, who are seeking foreign investments.
06. Mobile wallet ‘Batua’ to be launched by State Bank of India: A mobile wallet named ‘Batua’ will shortly be launched by SBI. This wallet will be made available even for the non-customers of the bank. SBI already has ‘buddy’ a e-wallet scheme.

01. World Science Day for Peace and Development 2015 observed : 10th November was observed as the World Science Day for Peace and Development with the theme ‘Science for a Sustainable Future’ . On this occasion UNESCO conducted campaigns, discussions to create awareness on the benefits of science.
02. Steel imports increase in October: Despite levying of 20% safeguard duty, the import of steel increased by 34% to 1.183 million tonnes during October 2015. Steel consumption in October, 2015 at 7.059 MT increased by 13.8 %, compared with September, 2015.
03. Govt. signs agreement with Asian Development Bank: The Government of India has signed an agreement with Asian Development Bank aggregating to 273 million USD to improve roads in rural areas in the states of MP, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhatisgarh and Assam.
04. New digital initiative for army personnel: Army Cloud, Software Defined Data Centre and Digi-locker facilities have been launched by the Ministry of Defence for the Indian Army. These are part of the digitalization initiatives of the Indian Army and will help in transforming it into a network centric force.
05. UN Commission for International Trade Law: India Re-elected: India was re-elected for a six year term on the UN Commission for International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). It is a body established with the aim of promoting the progressive harmonization and unification of the trade laws internationally.
06. New Chairman for International Cricket Council (ICC) : Former BCCI President Srinivasan has been removed from the Chairmanship of ICC and in his place the current BCCI President Shashank Manohar has taken over as the new Chairman of ICC.
