1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has almost finalised the structure of the Central Fraud Registry and will soon come up with guidelines to enable quick sharing of information about unscrupulous borrowers and help banks fight bad loans.

2. Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth clinched their maiden women and men's singles titles at the India Open Super Series badminton tournament. They defeated former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and sixth seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark respectively.

3. Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) launched a school, The HDFC School in Gurgaon. It was inaugurated by Deepak Parekh, chairman, HDFC. The school has started, taking admissions from pre-nursery to grade III this year.

4. India has been ranked a lowly 83rd on a new index compiled by the UN trade body, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for assessing the readiness of countries, for electronic commerce. It has the fourth largest number of complaints made against companies selling online.

1. Google Inc is joining forces with Johnson & Johnson to develop a robotic-assisted surgical programme helping doctors during operations.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made revisions to the norms for non-banking finance companies (NBFCs). The revised norms say that if there is a downgrading of credit rating, below the minimum specified investment grade, an NBFC should immediately stop accepting public deposits.

3. Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) successfully launched India’s fourth navigation satellite. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), in its twenty-ninth flight (PSLV-C27), carried IRNSS-1D. This is the first launch after A S Kiran Kumar took over as chairman of Isro.

4. Saina Nehwal became the first Indian woman shuttler to attain the number one spot in world rankings. She achieved this feat after defeating Spain’s Carolina Marin in the India Open Super Series semifinals.

5. Government is likely to give a short period one time compliance window of three to six months for those having unaccounted foreign income and assets, to escape prosecution under the proposed law Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of Tax) Bill (black money bill).
