1. Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015 ended with signing of 1,250 partnership agreements and Rs 25 lakh-crore investment pledge from corporates in India and abroad. United States will be one of the partner countries for the state government’s flagship investor meet the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held in January 2015.

2. Gujarat government and MasterCard signed an memorandum of understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation to accelerate the adoption of electronic payments processes involving government, businesses as well as the transit and tourism industry.

3. Global magazine Central Banking has honoured Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan with Governor of the Year award for 2015 for his disciplined and focused approach to tackling macroeconomic instability.

4. Central Bank of the Year title was given to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Former Banque de France head Jacques de Larosière was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his lengthy struggle for monetary order.

5. Government removed Chief of defence research and development organisation DRDO Avinash Chander before his contract was to end. He is the chief architect of Agni series of ballistic missile systems.

6. Nabard released Rs 30 crore to National Collateral Management Services (NCML) out of its Warehousing Infrastructure Fund for construction of 25 warehouses in 10 states and for creation of scientific warehousing capacity of 3,74,500 tonnes.

1. Google introduced Flight Search tool for Indian internet users. Flight Search will allow users to search for flights within Google as well as compare and book flights on mobile devices.

2. World Bank in its 'Global Economic Prospects' report said "slow economic recovery" was on in India. It has estimated growth at 6.4 per cent in 2015-16 and then to seven per cent in each of the next two financial years. The growth would be slower if reforms are stalled and faster if the process is expedited.

3. Centre is to amend the anti-smoking law - Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) (Amendment) Bill 2015. It has proposed a ban on sale of loose cigarettes and raising the minimum age of a person buying tobacco products to 21 years from the existing 18.

4. Eminent Sanskrit scholar Prabhu Nath Dwivedi was named as the winner of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2014 for Sanskrit language. His work Kanakalochanaha is a collection of 16 short-stories based on various social issues.

5. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) relaxed the Forex Hedging Norms for exporters and importers. The exporters and importers can now book forward foreign exchange contracts in excess of 50 percent of the eligible limit. This will give them greater operational flexibility.
