1. Market Global Business Outlook Survey reports that optimism in India on business activity remains higher than in other regions at a time when major economies such as those of China and the euro zone are slowing and Japan is already in recession.
2. Union labour ministry has set up four inter-ministerial groups to recommend changes in the Contract Labour Act, Small Factories Act, Inter-State Migrant Workmen Act and Minimum Wages Act. Changes in the Contract Labour Act seek to bring parity in wages, social security benefits, holidays, and hours of work among contract workers and permanent employees.
3. Finance Minister Arun Jaitely has said that a “whole set of second generation reforms” will be unveiled in the next Budget. He envisages the gross domestic product (GDP) growth to cross six per cent in 2015-16 once the reforms have been proposed.

1. Government of India has decided to set up a first-of-its kind National Biodiversity Museum (NBM) in Hyderabad. The museum is expected to be built in a six-acre site at an estimated cost of Rs. 200 crore.
2. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) banned Chairman-cum-Managing Director and other promoters of Transgene Biotek from accessing the capital market as the regulator found that the company transferred its GDR proceeds through its subsidiary for undisclosed and ulterior purposes.
3. At the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting, the ministry of defence (MoD) sanctioned procurement of 814 mounted gun systems (MGS) for an estimated Rs 15,750 crore ($3 billion).
4. According to Wealth-X and UBS World Ultra Wealth Report 2014, India has the third-largest population of ultra-rich individuals in Asia, after Japan and China. 8,595 Indians together with $1.01 trillion in assets have taken the country to the sixth position in a global ranking of wealthy people.
5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi may push for the creation of a South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (Saarc) development bank to boost trade and investment. The 18th Saarc Summit will happen in Kathmandu on November 26-27.
