1. According to an American foreign policy magazine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been named the top decision-maker on a list of 100 global thinkers. He is followed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on the list.

2. Hyderabad duo Hasan Ali Khan and Vaishali Neotia won ‘Aegis Graham Bell Award’, constituted by Aegis Graham Bell Business School and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). They developed a system where users can see the manual instructions on the screen of a tab, a phone or Google glass when they point it at the gadget.

3. Japan's economy unexpectedly fell into recession in the third quarter. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is considering dissolving Parliament and calling fresh elections.

4. Bombay High Court ruled in favour of the Indian unit of Royal Dutch Shell Plc in a multi-million dollar tax dispute, the latest verdict against the tax department, which has been vigorously pursing claims against foreign firms in India. Shell had challenged the largest ever claim in a tax case related to transfer pricing.

5. International Buddhist Conference 2014 was held from 15 November to 18 November 2014 in Lumbini, Nepal. It was held with an objective of preserving Buddhist culture and heritage

1. G20 leaders decided to set up a Global Infrastructure Hub to help reduce barriers to investment and improve information sharing for channelising funds into the sector. The hub will be Located in Sydney and will contribute to developing a knowledge-sharing platform and network between governments, the private sector, development banks and other international organisations.

2. Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan, a Union Cabinet Minister and a well-known banker in infrastructure finance have been shortlisted as possible candidates for BRICS’ New Development Bank president. It was earlier decided by BRICS nations that the first president of the bank will be from India. The BRICS bank may be inaugurated by 2016.

3. Saina Nehwal clinched the $ 700,000 China Open Super Series Premier tournament after beating young Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the summit clash, in Fuzhou.

4. Young Indian shuttler K Srikanth clinched his maiden Super Series title after defeating two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan of China in the men’s singles events of China Open Super Series Premier.

5. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was chosen for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2014 for its contribution in strengthening international cooperation in peaceful use of outer space.

6. An 18-year-old Indian American from Philadelphia Neha Gupta was awarded with the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize 2014 for her work to help orphans in India and other vulnerable children.
