1. China and India to co-produce Three films: India and China have now decided to produce three films after the recent visit of PM Modi to China . One of the films is named ‘Lost in India’ modelled on Chinese comedy ‘Lost in Thailand’. The next two films will be based on the life of Hiuen Tsang and Yoga.
2. Modi and Mamta to visit Bangladesh jointly: PM Modi and West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee will represent India when they meet in Dhaka on June 6 .
3. S. Christopher to become the New DRDO Chief: The government has appointed aeronautical expert S. Christopher as the new chief of the country’s Defence R & D Organisation( DRDO) for a two year term.
4. BOI has announced the first quarterly loss in two decades: Because of a huge NPA of 5.4 % for the 4th quarter of the financial year 2015, Bank Of India has declared a fourth quarter loss of Rs. 55 crores against Rs.558 crore profit a year earlier. The Chairperson of BOI Ms. V.R. Iyer said , ”The worst is over and the next quarter position will improve”.
5. PSB boards will get professional Directors: In a big step towards reforming struggling PSB the government has shortlisted Ravi Venkatesan , an independent director of Infosys for the post of Chairman of one of the state run banks .The government proposes to appoint professional independent directors as chairmen for the remaining 8 Public Sector Banks(PSB).
6. Indian Postal Dept planning to start Payment Bank: The Postal Dept is planning to use its 1.55 lakhs of points of presence across the country to start a Payment Bank. It plans to open 650 branches in 5 years along with 1.3 lakhs of points of presence across India. A payment bank can accept demand deposits subject to a cap of Rs.1 lakh per customer but cannot provide credit .

1. Himachal Pradesh to use satellite system to check forest fire: To protect its fast depleting forest resources HP govt proposes to use satellite systems to locate forest fire and take quick action to prevent it from spreading.
2. Amazon India chief meets CM of Karnataka govt. to streamline commercial tax procedure: Representatives of Amazon India called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and urged him to streamline tax procedures of the Commercial Tax Department. A few months ago, the Commercial Tax Department had issued notices to dealers of the work with the Indian arm of Amazon.com Inc., practically barring them from doing business with the e-commerce retailer.
3. Hashtag has been named children’s word of the year by Oxford University Press (OUP): The use of the hashtag symbol ‘#’ to add an extra meaning or comment at the end of a sentence has become commonplace following its prolific use on Twitter to highlight particular subjects.
4. New portal ‘khoyapaya’ to trace missing children: With 11 children disappearing every hour in the country, the government will on June 2 roll out a web platform for people to directly report, track and upload information on missing children. The web portal will be launched by the Women and Child Development Ministry.
5. Kochi has been provisionally selected as a host of the 2017 under-17 FIFA World Cup: Tournament Director Javier Ceppi and Project Director Joy Bhattacharya announced this at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium
