1. Butterfly new species found: Scientists have discovered a tiny butterfly in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is 15 mm in size and has been named Banded Tit Hypolycaena narada.
2. AI to sell assets worth Rs. 250 crore: The Civil Aviation Ministry is finalising a note for Cabinet to allow debt-laden Air India to raise Rs. 250 crore through sale of properties in Mumbai, Chennai and Coimbatore.
3. Interest subvention scheme for exporters likely: Concerned over a continuous decline in exports, the government, said it would soon announce an interest subsidy scheme for exporters.
4. J&K High court : J&K constitution 'sovereign’ in character : In a landmark verdict amid fresh legal challenges to Jammu & Kashmir's special status, the state high court ruled that J&K's constitution was "sovereign in character" and its assembly exercised "sovereign power to legislate laws". As a sequel to this, the HC said the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act couldn't be extended to the state because Parliament couldn't make laws for it under Article 370.
5. Chinese toddler is first to get a 3D-printed skull: A three-year-old girl in China has become the first person in the world to have her skull reconstructed with the help of 3D printing technology, after a 17-hour-long ground-breaking surgery.
6. Sebi, RBI work on e-IPO launch: Market regulator SEBI is working along with the Reserve Bank of India for a smooth roll out of the proposed e-IPO process that will reduce paperwork in public offerings to nearly zero, halve the timeline for listing of a company to just six days and also reduce costs of listing substantially.
7. Short-Term Loan of 7 Billion Euro to Greece by EU: European Union (EU) has approved a short-term loan of 7.16 billion euros to Greece after it was backed by the 28 member states. This loan will help Greece in repaying its debt to European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) till new bailout plan is ratified.
