1. New Gateway for Internet for North eastern states: Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad laid the foundation stone for an international gateway for Internet services. The gateway is coming up under an agreement signed between Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. and the Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this agreement, Internet connectivity from the Cox Bazaar Cable Landing Station in southeast Bangladesh will provide up to 40-GB bandwidth in the northeastern States.
2. ISRO’s commercial arm Antrix website ‘hacked’: The website of ISRO’s commercial arm Antrix Corporation Limited was reportedly hacked on 12th July and the space agency said efforts are on to set it right.
3. India, Kyrgyzstan plan anti-terror pact: Voicing grave concern over the rising trend of extremism and terrorism the world over, India and Kyrgyzstan signed four agreements including one to boost defence cooperation and hold annual joint military exercises.
4. Sania Mirza wins Wimbledon women's doubles title: Tennis Star Sania Mirza become the first Indian to win the Wimbledon women's doubles title with her Swiss partner Martina Hingis.
5. Another Crown for India in the Wimbledon: Leander Paes won the Wimbledon mixed double titles with Martina Hingis. It was Leander paes eighth mixed double title and second with Martina Hingis.
6. Navak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in Wimbledon singles: Navak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 winning his third Wimbledon singles title in a match that reached sublime heights before ending on a somewhat anti-climatic note.
7. Big B sings for Pro Kabaddi League: Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice to "Lepanga", a promotional song for Pro Kabaddi League(PKL). The song has been released in four versions.
8. Government working on farm Insurance: The Narendra Modi government is working on an action plan to introduce a nationwide farm insurance scheme.

E-com Retail Model is Unsustainable, says Birla: The deep discount model followed by Indian retailers is unsustainable and would come to an end sooner or later as investors would surely demand higher return, Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has said, while calling for level playing field for brick and mortar retailers.
