01. Nobel prize for economics announced: Micro economist Angus Deaton has been awarded the Nobel prize for economics for 2015. This honour was conferred on him for his analysis on public consumption, their welfare and levels of poverty.

02. Beighton cup of hockey goes to Punjab National Bank this year: PNB team has won the prestigious Beighton hockey cup for this year. They won Indian Oil Corporation team in the keenly fought final match.

03. Yet another title for Novak Djokovic : Novak Djokovic defeated Rafel Nadal to claim the China Open Tennis Single’s title at Beijing. He has been the undisputed champion in this tournament since 2012.

04. November 26th to be observed as Constitution day: This day will be observed as Constitution day, since the constitution was drafted by Dr.Ambedkar on this day way back in 1949.

05. Industrial Output increases: Industrial output grew a better-than-expected 6.4 percent in August compared with a downwardly revised 4.1 percent growth a month ago, as per the government data released recently.

06. Marginal increase in retail inflation: Retail inflation rose to 4.41% when compared to 3.74% during the month of September. The constant irritant factor in the Consumer Price Index, food inflation rose to 3.88% from 2.2% in August 2015.

07. New taxes for vehicles entering Delhi: Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs) entering Delhi would have to pay Rs.700/= and Rs.1300/= as Polluction Surcharge, as per the order of Supreme Court.

08. India signs new deal: India signed Rs.105 crore deal with the Slovenian firm Pipistrel to purchase 194 micro-light aircrafts, the Indian name of which would be ‘Garur’. These aircrafts would be used by Indian Airforce, Indian Navy and National Cadet Corps. The aircraft can take off and land in semi-prepared surfaces.

Outward foreign remittances on the rise: Monthly foreign outward remittances by Indians for various purposes including education and maintenance of relatives abroad increased to US $ 380 millions, during July 2005, which is an all-time high. The total remittances made in the first four months of this financial year stood at US $ 769 millions

10. Indus IndBank to sell Tata AIA Life products: Private sector Bank Indus Ind Bank would be selling the insurance products of Tata AIA life following a tie-up arrangement with both of them. The bank’s agreement with Aviva Life Insurance ended recently.
