01. Sania – Hingis pair does it once again: The successful pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have once again won a title, the China Open Women’s Doubles title. This is their 8th title in the current year.

02. Farooqui appointed Broadband forum chairman: Ex-Telecom Secretary Farooqui has been appointed as the Chairman of Broadband India Forum. The forum has more than 40 members which include technology providers, telecom operators, Internet service providers, cable TV operators, value added service providers and professionals.

03. Yes Bank decides to Exit Lanco Infra Loan: Private sector bank Yes Bank has decided not to renew the loan for Lanco Infratech. There are totally 27 banks in the loan structure, out of which Yes Bank’s exposure is to the tune of Rs.250 crores.

04. Bandhan Bank to raise funds: Recently opened Bandhan Bank has decided to raise funds aggregating to Rs.500 crores from the public during March 2016 to help its expansion plans.

05. Centre’s revenue collections: Service Tax comes to the rescue: Government has said that there is likely to be a shortfall in its target to collect Rs.7.98 lakh crores direct taxes. However, there has been robust service tax collections in the current fiscal and this has helped the government to narrow its shortfall.

RBI rate cut helps in bolstering car / shopping: With the recent announcement of RBI of a 0.5 % rate cut, more and more people are visiting car showrooms / planning to go for high value cars, which would also indirectly help in growth in economy, as this trend is set to continue in the other sectors as well.

07. Nepal gets new PM: Sharma Oli has been elected as the new Prime Minister in Nepal, after the re-adoption of its constitution last month. He belongs to the Communist Party of Nepal and secured 338 votes, out of 598. He defeated the present incumbent Sushil Koirala.

08. Veteral Actress Manorama passes away: The comedy queen who ruled the tamil screens for the past half century, with her variety of comedy and character roles passed away in Chennai. She has entered the Guinness book of records for acting in over 1000 movies in the last fifty years.
